How it works

Mechanism of action

Active metabolite endoxifen (via CYP2D6) competes at estrogen receptors. Antagonist in breast; partial agonist in bone, endometrium, and liver. Blocks negative estrogen feedback in hypothalamus, increasing GnRH, LH, FSH, and testosterone in men.
