AstaxanthinAstaxanthin

Carotenoid antioxidant from Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae, 550x more potent than vitamin E and 6,000x more than vitamin C as a singlet oxygen quencher. Spans cell membranes, providing protection to both lipid and aqueous compartments simultaneously.

Most potent carotenoid antioxidant

Crosses blood-brain and blood-retina barriers

Anti-inflammatory via NF-kB suppression

Cardioprotective (improves lipid profiles)

How it works

Mechanism of action

Unique molecular structure spans the entire lipid bilayer of cell membranes, quenching reactive oxygen species in both the hydrophilic and hydrophobic domains. Also activates Nrf2 antioxidant response element and suppresses NF-kB inflammatory signaling.
