What qualifies for Hormone Replacement Therapy?
Well, that’s a tricky question.
Only because most other telehealth platforms are simply looking at estrogen and testosterone levels to determine whether or not a client is the right fit—but it’s not so cut and dry.
The ranges we have for hormone health changes between labs but they’re also largely arbitrary and don’t paint the whole picture of what’s going on.
Like we said earlier, our bodies vary person to person which means symptoms and “optimal” hormone levels do too.
Some people have markers suggesting they’re in desperate need of hormone replacement and yet they show no classic signs like fatigue, anxiety, or low libido. Others have impeccable markers suggesting that everything is fine yet they’re experiencing all the symptoms associated with it.
That’s why the main Marek Health packages come with a provider consultation: not to just prescribe your hormone therapy, to make sure that your body is lining up with what the labs are saying.
It’s possible that you’re experiencing a thyroid issue or maybe you’re vitamin B12 deficient—but ultimately, we won’t find out until we dig deeper and look at your overall health versus just your hormone levels.
“If you’re not a candidate for TRT, they will still help you optimize your health and hormones in other ways.” – Nathan R.
That being the case, we strongly recommend scheduling a consultation with our team to assess baseline diagnostic lab work and consulting with one of our partnered medical providers.
Once you’ve got your lab work, they’ll be able to determine whether or not you’re eligible for TRT/HRT based on your lab markers, health history, symptoms, and goals.
What is Marek Health?
Marek is a telehealth platform built on streamlining health optimization. We use preventative medicine and evidence-based treatment plans to get our clients the results they want.
We’re not your typical telehealth service though. While we have an extensive catalog of prescription medications, we’re not here to write you a script and end the relationship. Most other companies would just diagnose and set you up with a monthly subscription plan without giving it a second thought.
But we don’t see health that way.
We know our bodies vary from person to person consisting of countless variables, which is why we take a comprehensive approach by evaluating your health as a whole.
What works for you won’t work for the next person. Hell, what works for you now may not work for you 3 months in the future. That’s why we don’t offer any set subscription plans and you can cancel whenever you want.
Our main focus is on the client, not the prescription.
Marek’s job is to connect clients interested in human optimization with pragmatic healthcare professionals who are dedicated to peak performance. Once you’ve been paired with one of our partnered physicians, the aim is to check off as many health goals as safely as possible in between check-ins.
We work flexibly to fit your needs as a client because with just a little more organizational work on our end, the overall quality of life is enhanced and your results are that much better.
Note: Marek Health is not a healthcare clinic. We do not administer healthcare, nor do we prescribe treatments or medications. Instead, Marek Health is a platform that connects clients with highly specialized healthcare providers for their healthcare needs.
How long does it take for my lab results to come back?
How long does it take for my lab results to come back?
Depending on the complexity of the panel you are having drawn, the time frames for results can vary greatly. We have most recently been seeing 5-7+ day turn around on basic panels, and 10-14+ days for comprehensive panels.
Many of the tests included in our panels utilize complex testing methodologies that take a long time to process and result.
Unfortunately there is nothing we can do to speed up this process. While there are cheaper/quicker tests that could be substituted to achieve a quicker turn around time on results, they would not reflect the standard of care that Marek holds for its clients.
We will continue to explore new testing methodologies as they become available to ensure we are always offering the best solutions to our clients.
Do you accept health insurance or other services?
Marek Health does not communicate with health insurance companies for any of our services; even though the overall health of our clients is tremendously enhanced and they experience a better quality of life. Many health insurance providers don’t see it this way and consider our services elective.
Many customers have had success using FSA or HSA means of payment. Marek Health can provide copies of invoices and lab requisitions as needed. Because we are direct pay, and do not seek reimbursement from insurance providers, we cannot provide procedure codes (CPT) or diagnostic codes (ICD-10).

I don’t have a PCP, where can I get a Physical Exam done?

How long does it typically take to fulfill a medication order?
We know what you’re thinking…. “I can go to my local pharmacy with a script from my doctor, wait 15 minutes and walk out with my medications. What is taking so long?!!!!!”
When your order is placed, a complex series of processes kicks off behind the scenes, involving multiple departments at multiple companies:
First, Marek staff must manually review the order for accuracy, and submit it to the pharmacy via a manual process. If your order is being fulfilled with multiple pharmacies, our staff has to log into each pharmacy portal and submit the order.
Next, your physician must review your prescription and sign off for its release to you at the pharmacy. If your order is being fulfilled with multiple pharmacies, your physician has to log into each pharmacy portal and approve the orders. The physicians are also working with clients during the day and typically approve orders once per day.
Your order is finally being processed by the compounding pharmacy! Unlike the retail pharmacy down the street from you, a compounding pharmacy makes your medications on the spot when the order is placed. They cannot just grab an item off the shelf and fulfill the order. Depending on the size of your order, and the complexity of the compounding, it can take up to 48hours to make all your medications. Once your order is complete, it must be reviewed and signed off by the Pharmacist fulfilling the order. Lastly, your order undergoes another final inspection by the shipping department before it is boxed up and sent to you.
We only use 503A/503B FDA Approved and Audited compounding pharmacies as our fulfillment partners. This allows us to customize the delivery routes, strength, and other characteristics of the medication to provide a more targeted and effective treatment.
What are the program requirements to be a Marek Health client?
In order to achieve the highest level of care possible, Marek has certain standards which are considered baseline requirements for being a client.
Physical Examination
Annual Physical (Every 12 Months): Since we are a telehealth provider, we need to ensure a qualified health professional (MD, DO, PA, NP) has seen you in person and attests to your physical health, thus ensuring legal compliance. You'll be required to send us a copy of your annual physical before starting and continuing treatment.
Medical Provider Consultations
Initial Consultation: Begin your treatment journey with an initial telehealth consultation with a medical provider.
Follow-Up (6-12 Weeks): After starting treatment, you'll have a follow-up visit within 6 to 12 weeks to evaluate your therapy response.
Routine Visits (Every 6 Months): Continue with routine provider visits every six months to monitor your progress.
Additional Visits: Additional consultations may be scheduled as needed, based on your medical provider's recommendations and your personal preference.
Diagnostic Lab Work
Initial Comprehensive Lab Work: Before your first consultation with a medical provider, you must complete bespoke comprehensive lab tests. Your medical team will help determine the appropriate testing during your intake evaluation meeting. The data from your initial diagnostic lab work, in conjuction with your health history and goals, helps us tailor the best treatment plan for you.
Follow-Up Basic Lab Work (6-12 Weeks): We require basic diagnostic lab work 6-12 weeks after starting treatment. This helps us monitor your response and allows us to make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
Ongoing Basic Lab Work (Every 6 Months): After the initial follow-up, you will need to continue having basic lab tests every six months. These regular check-ins enable us to ensure the ongoing effectiveness and safety of your treatment.
Additional Diagnostics: Additional diagnostics may be scheduled as needed, based on your medical provider's recommendations and your personal preference.

Why can’t you provide ‘X’ product / service / medication to me?

Restriction on Days Supply allowed per order

I have recent labwork, why can’t you accept it?
Marek Health’s guided optimization process includes thorough diagnostics that go far beyond what is typically included in an annual check-up with your PCP. Our team creates a customized lab panel based on your individual physiology. We believe in comprehensive testing and accurate results. That’s why we specifically seek out high-sensitivity and the most up-to-date testing. The detailed results of this additional testing, in combination with one-on-one counseling with the medical provider, will be used to develop a comprehensive lab report and your customized treatment plan.
We require, at a minimum, the comprehensive male/female panel to begin the guided optimization process.
We require all clients at Marek Health to complete thorough diagnostic lab work at least every 6 months.
I have a recent physical examination, can you accept it?
We accept physical exams that were completed within the last 3 months from your application date. Keep in mind, we require physical exams at 12 month intervals. If you apply with a physical exam that was done 6 months ago, you will be required to get another physical done in 6 months (when your 12 month period has expired for that physical.)
